SOUTH Africa-based gospel diva, Carol Muzambi, says she can’t wait for her show alongside Dorcas Moyo, this Saturday.
Dubbed “Pretoria Gospel Show”, the high profile family show will be held at No. 114 Duxbury Road, in Hatfield, where an array of artists will support her.
However, it should be mentioned that the attention would be on Carol, who has just formed a “pact” with the Mutare-based songbird (Dorcas).
After the South African affair, Carol and Dorcas will fly together to the UK for another performance at the Salvation Army Church in Milton Keynes next month.
Speaking to H-Metro, from her Pretoria base, the former backing vocalist of Pastor Lawrence Haisa, said she was ready for her new alliance.
She said it was a dream come true, learning from Dorcas.
“I feel so humbled and honoured, I am taking this as a learning curve,” she said.
With a number of Zimbabwean gospel artists, based in Gauteng, set to grace the event, Carol assured fans of a polished act.
“I am promising fireworks, we will be enjoying in the Lord’s presence.
“We want to restore people’s hope, especially Zimbabwean foreign nationals in SA.
“We have to keep on reminding them that God can never leave, nor forsake us, in every situation.
“We must put our hope and trust in the Lord,” she said.
Carol, who has settled well across the Limpopo, opened up on how she was surviving.
“I am only doing musical tours, and some other personal business projects, but I alternate between Zimbabwe and South Africa.”
“My vision is to spread the word, through gospel music, to many nations and save souls.
“I am also into some small businesses and am also into beauty.”
She opened up on the challenges she faces.
“As women, sometimes, we face gender specific challenges but I have learnt to be someone who overcomes this.
“So far, I have a very close relative assisting me financially.
“I also got various church leaders supporting me by giving me platforms to showcase my ministry.”
She urged fellow musicians to cultivate healthy relations with the corporate world.
“I am working with some companies such as Zororo Phumulani and New Dawn Immigration and a few individuals, whom I will not mention by names, have come on board to assist me in various forms.”
Carol said she comes from a musical family which made her breakthrough easier.
“I as greatly inspired by my dad, Mr Mark Muzambi, who was a prominent choir master.
“I started writing songs at the age of 10.
“My musical journey at professional level started in 2010, when I used to back prominent musicians such as Pastor Haisa, Nathaniel Ncube, Blessing Shumba, Rev Toggie Chivaviro, Trymore Bande and many more.”
“I then went solo in 2017 when I recorded my first album called Tarisa Kuna Mwari, followed by second album of single collections which was released in 2021, which include the most popular songs, Target featuring Bethan Pasinawako and Ndovimba Nemi, featuring Minister Man jeey and Tongai,” she said.
