LEADING local paint manufacturer, Nash Paints, yesterday launched its new decorative paint manufacturing plant at its headquarters in Graniteside.
The company, which started off as a paint retailer in 2006, launched its new 18 000-litre per day decorative plant, raising the plant’s manufacturing capacity, to 33 875 litres, per day.
Company founder and owner, Tinashe Mutarisi, hailed his team for their great work.
“This has been a hard period for the paint industry because of the lockdown, which saw a lot of countries around the world reducing sales of raw materials, and even exporting them.
“The team that I work with stood firm with me and they kept pushing and assuring me that things will get better for us one day.
“I owe this day to them and I would like to thank them for their hard work,” Mutarisi said.
Nash Paints production operations manager, Judith Nyakabambo, said the new decorative paint manufacturing plant is going to improve the quality of their paint.
“There is also going to be increased efficiency as a result of this plant.
“We are hoping to get better,” Nyakabambo said.
Finance manager, Joshua Simakani, said they accept all forms of payment, and this has enabled them to win the hearts of old and new clients.
“We have been able to sustain the business, over the years, because we accept any form of payment here.
“Even with increased production, we will continue accepting all modes of payments,” said Simakani.
“The new plant will help us save in production costs, while increasing our sales,” he said.
Production manager, Prince Beta, said the new plant was set up after a realisation that there was a huge demand for their paint.
“The initiative to add another plant started in January and the plant was bought in April and installation was completed by July 1.
“The new plant is going to reduce time for running paint and our customers will buy paint at affordable prices.
“In addition, there is also a filling machine, which fills up to 400 buckets a day.”
