LAS VEGAS. — Floyd Mayweather is facing a fight in his personal life before he steps foot in the boxing ring again.
The American legend is involved in lawsuits on both sides of the courtroom, has been issued with a huge tax bill and has bouts seemingly falling through. Last year he announced an exhibition with Mike Tyson to take place in 2026, but no progress has been made public.
And he was threatened with legal action after appearing to try and change his rematch with Manny Pacquiao to an exhibition.
Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015 in boxing’s most lucrative fight — earning him around £250MILLION.
Two years later, he officially retired with victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in another £200m payday.
But this February, Mayweather sued the broadcaster Showtime for US$340m alleging aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy to commit fraud, conversion and unjust enrichment. Mayweather topped Forbes’ rich list of the decade in 2019 with earnings souring past $1BILLION.
But his apparent financial troubles has caused him to sell assets including a private jet and mansions Beverly Hills and Miami, according to Business Insider.
Mayweather still continues to flaunt whatever wealth he has remaining, posing in private jet and fancy getaways — but it appears his Money moniker is under serious threat. — The Sun
