CASH FOR COWS? COPS SAY MOOO! Duo busted trying to bribe cops with R3k to free alleged cattle rustler

B-Metro Reporter

TWO men in Chisumbanje found out the hard way that bribing cops is no laughing matter, especially when cows are involved.
Gilward Khumbula (25) and Cephas Chauke (24) were arrested on 18 July after strutting into ZRP Chisumbanje with R3 000 in hand, hoping to buy freedom for Langton Chauke, who had been locked up for stock theft just three days earlier.

But instead of pulling off a slick rescue, the pair got shackled themselves.
Police officers promptly clapped the cuffs on the hopeful hustlers.

Trying to bribe officers is not only criminal, it’s downright foolish. Now they have joined their friend in the cells, said a police insider.
Langton Chauke, the man they tried to free, remains behind bars and now has unexpected company.

The herd is still missing, the money is in evidence bags, and the suspects are all chewing cud in custody.
