Maria Chiguvari

CASSPER Nyovest and Nasty C’s performance at the Fiesta Fiesta at Alex Sports Club on Saturday night was a triumph for hip hop culture and African music.

Their energy and talent shone through as they performed for a crowd of excited fans.

The inclusion of local artists like Volts JT, Holy Ten and Michael Maggz added to the celebration of African music and talent.

The ongoing African Throne World Tour is an important opportunity for these artists to showcase the richness of African hip hop on a global stage. Fiesta Fiesta’s decision to include hip hop in their line-up is a testament to the growing popularity and influence of this genre in Africa.

The African Throne World Tour kicked off in August with the two South African hip hop heavyweights first performing in the Sunshine City.

Whether you love them or hate them, Nyovest and Nasty C’s performances were going to be breathtaking.

Local acts like Volts JT made a mark at the show, with the rapper’s live performance captivating the minds of his fans.

As usual, Holy Ten and Michael Maggz rose to the occasion as many of their faithful fans tried to match the two’s energy during their set.

Once they appeared on stage, it turned into a dance party, served with a heavy dosage of self-confidence and beaming pride.

Other artists to grace the stage were Bling 4, Denimwoods, OCD, Suhn, Bagga, Crooger and Made Her Believe.

This ongoing tour is aimed at showcasing the richness of African hip hop on a global stage.

Fiesta Fiesta, which has been around for the past seven years, started off as a DJ-based monthly event, but as the crowds grew bigger, organisers decided to start bringing in international artistes.

Fiesta Fiesta is one of the biggest monthly outdoor events in Zimbabwe, attracting thousands of patrons in every edition. The event had been only focusing on the amapiano genre, but decided to take the hip hop route this year.
