Tehran — Iran yesterday said Canada had a “neo-conservative extremist government” as it kept up a furious response to Ottawa’s decision last week to cut diplomatic ties.
Zapu broke, operating from the streets: Dabengwa

ZAPU leader Mr Dumiso Dabengwa has admitted that his party is broke and operating from the streets.
Addressing party supporters at a rally at Magwegwe Hall on Saturday, Mr Dabengwa said Zapu had been operating on a shoe-string budget, as members were not paying subscriptions.
The rally was organised by the party’s youths and was meant to celebrate fallen Zapu heroes and coincide with the King Mzilikazi Commemorations.

Tertiary students on cadetship programme stranded

STATE universities are refusing to register more than 50 000 students who are on the cadetship programme before Government clears outstanding payments.
Zimbabwe has 10 State universities which are owed close to $100 million by Government.
Students with outstanding payments have been barred from attending lectures and accessing results.
Government introduced a cadetship programme in which it pays fees for those who enrol in different programmes.

LACK of funds is threatening the Government’s national restocking programme amid revelations that the Cold Storage Company to spearhead the programme is broke.
The company last year invited farmers to apply to be considered for the restocking programme meant to increase the national herd.
