Thandazani Mpofu (20), who worked and stayed at Plot Number 5, Wild East, Kezi, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Moga Rori (59), but was convicted of murder with actual intent by acting Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Meshack Cheda sitting with Mrs Isabelle Mashengele and Mr Patrick Hikwa as assessors.

Midlands ReporterA Lower Gweru man was found lying dead in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his ear and a slit throat in what his family is suspecting to be a ritual murder.
The police confirmed the death and identified the deceased as Artson Dube of Sinangeni Village under Chief Bunina.
Acting Midlands police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said Dube’s body was spotted by a fellow villager at about 6am on Friday about 200 metres from Lower Gweru Road.
Interact club donates to Mpilo Hospital
Chronicle ReporterTHE Interact Club of Northlea High School donated groceries, books and second hand clothes to Mpilo Central Hospital children’s ward on Monday.
Members of the club visited the hospital in the morning and first picked up litter from the institution’s grounds before presenting their donation.
The groceries comprised soap, petroleum jelly and sanitary wear all valued at $700.
