CCC MP in court for assaulting church leader

Citizens Coalition for Change legislator for Zengeza East Goodrich Chimbaira and his three brothers have been arraigned before the courts for allegedly assaulting their churchmate and leader following a misunderstanding.

Goodrich (37), Phillip Chimbaira, Agrippa Shadreck Chimbaira (34),Jericho Chimbaira (31) appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mrs Winfilder Tiatara charged with assault.

The case was remanded to November 26 for trial commencement. The complainant is Meki Jotamu.

The accused and Jotamu knew each other before this matter since they reside in the same neighborhood and had worshiped together at the Gospel of God Church for a very long time.

The State alleges that on October 8, at around 7:30 pm, a misunderstanding arose when Jotamu was about to leave the Gospel of God church in Unit E, Seke, Chitungwiza after conducting their prayers as usual.

The accused persons were outside the church premises when they confronted Jotamu.
