The Carnival City’s Big Top Arena, Johannesburg, South Africa, was turned into a night filled with great praise and worship on March 21, as the Celestial Chorus tour featured great perfomances and ministry, turning the venue into a gathering filled with devine and annointing.

Led by renowned Gospel artiste Minister Everton Mlalazi, the Celestial Chorus is no ordinary production. It is a grand, spiritual display that weaves together voices from across the region into one harmonious offering of praise.

And on the night, the event lived to billing, as the auditorium was filled to capacity, with every aisle alive with anticipation.

From the onset, the atmosphere was vibrant yet reverent, as it combined a sacred tension between celebration and worship.

The crowd did not merely attend, they participated, as hands were lifted, and their voices blended seamlessly with those on stage, turning the venue into a cathedral of sound.

Performers who took to the stage included Dumi Mkokstad, Janet Manyowa, Canaan Nyathi, Mthunzi Namba,Mmatema, Mpumi Mtsweni, Fisani Masinga, Rudo Madidi, Sharon Cherayi, Sindi Ntombela, Peniel Tambama, Petronella Sengwayo, Natasha Mlalazi, as well as Tawanda Midzi.

Songs that were performed at the show are Ngeke Kulunge, Master the tempest, Blessed Assurance, Kufamba NaMwari, Give me Jesus, Mununuri Uya, Sobuthana Emfuleni, Jesu Ari Mufudzi, Izwe Lasebheula, Tiri Vana Vamambo, Ndotondera Calvary, Makabongwe, It is well, I Surrender, Mudyi Wenhaka, Mlindi Ngitshele, Mira seGamba, Thwala Mina, Themba Nilale, as well as Thokoza Phambili.

The major highlight of the event was the 100-piece ochestra, as well as the main band, as they did a splendid job, making sure that performances are in synch and have a great appeal to the worshipers in attendence.

The production itself was a marvel, blending immaculate sound engineering with subtle yet effective lighting that elevated every moment without overshadowing the message of the Gospel on stage.

Yet beyond the music, the lights, and the applause, there was something deeper, as those in attendence had a shared experience, which was a reminder of faith’s unifying power in a world often divided.

With plans already in motion for Celestial Chorus to host similar shows, one thing certain is that Johannesburg bore witness to the beginning of something far greater than a single event.

The night was the birth of a movement, a travelling sanctuary of songs that promises to touch hearts across the continent.
