“We are checking all those reports and for the purposes of making the whole process credible, enumerators will visit areas where people are said to have been left out. It is something we are looking at seriously because we know that there are single households where occupants might not have been there during the official days,” he said.
This is in addition to the mop-up exercise Zimstat carried out immediately after the census.
The census ran from August 17 to 27.
There were reports that some residents in Bulawayo, Masvingo and Harare were not counted.
Justice and Legal Affairs Deputy Minister Obert Gutu has threatened to sue Zimstat for leaving out some households in his ward.
