MANICA Diamonds skipper, Liberty Chakoroma, feels his side finally got what they deserve after ending their winless run with a 2-1 victory over Green Fuel over the weekend.
Farai Banda and Charles Teguru were on target as the Gem Boys claimed their first win after four games.
And, they hauled themselves out of the relegation zone in the process.
They had a slow start to the campaign by losing their first assignment against CAPS United and went on to share the spoils with Triangle and Herentals.
Prior to their win, Chakoroma had scored the team’s first goal of this campaign in their 1-1 stalemate against the Students, having failed to register a goal in their first two fixtures.
“This win was really overdue, we were running out of ideas but it eventually happened for us.
“The pressure was becoming too much and it was not coming from the coach or the executive but us as players we knew it was not looking okay.”
