FIFTY SIX GOALS IN DIV ONE, NONE IN PSL

THE Castle Lager Premiership is proving to be a different beast to the forwards who illuminated the Division One football scene.

Simba Bhora’s Tinashe Balakasi, Liberty Masveure of Sheasham and Ishmael Lawe, who plays for Green Fuel were unstoppable last season.

They helped their teams to earn their PSL status with their ruthlessness upfront. 

Balakasi scored 29, Ishmael 13 and Masveure 14 times.

But, this trio is still yet to announce their arrival in the big boy’s league. 

Ironically, Simba Bhora, Sheasham and Green Fuel have all netted just twice in four fixtures. 

And, it also explains why they are finding themselves at bottom end of the standings.

But, some are arguing that these strikers cannot be blamed as they now have reduced roles with their coaches giving preferences to seasoned strikers. 

Hwange are enjoying a seamless transition despite being the only newly-promoted side who didn’t have a Golden Boot winner in their squad.

Maybe, they are just reaping the rewards of retaining 95 percent of the players who brought them back into the top-flight league. 

Simba Bhora showed the exist door to the bulk of their troops, Sheasham did the same and so did Green Fuel.

Coach was demoted after just one game which they lost 0-1 to Yadah Stars.

Green Fuel travel to Mandava for a date with Sheasham on Saturday.

And, some reports are suggesting that should they fail to get a positive result on this fixture, Mutasa is going to be reappointed as the team’s coach.
