Chaminuka in quandary

Border Strikers coach Saul Chaminuka appears to be running out of patience with the situation at the Beitbridge side. Chaminuka yesterday said it is increasingly becoming difficult for him to motivate his players as they go out again this afternoon in search of their first Premiership point against Tsholotsho at Maglas.

The Beitbridge side are reeling under huge financial challenges.

Chaminuka’s men have had a miserable run after losing all seven matches in their maiden league campaign.

“The major problem we are facing here is that there is no money. We are preparing for the eighth match of the season now and the situation has not changed. The players are still owed and morale is down,” said Chaminuka.

“Tell me, how do I motivate these guys if there is no hope of them getting paid like this? I have had to beg players to train and to play football. Yet in professional football it should not be like that.

“If things were normal I should be demanding results from these guys but right now I can’t. My hands are tied. These players are more of volunteers and you cannot ask for more from volunteers.”
