KOMBI drivers have been urged to change their reckless attitude.

The call was made by stakeholders during the ZTN Prime’s programme The Chase.

National police spokesperson, Paul Nyathi, said:

“First thing, we need to teach these drivers what is customer care, the way they speak to customers.

“Commuter associations need to work closely with the police to make sure these drivers work well with the passengers.

“There is a need to service these vehicles, these vehicles should be inspected to see if they are appropriate for the road and it’s the same for the driver.

“Our culture of driving must be observed,” he said.

Member of Parliament Kaitano said he was concerned with passengers who stand behind reckless drivers.

“Havana moyo, we are losing parents due to what is being done by these kombi drivers. As passengers please play your part tisarasikirwe nehupenyu.

“As the rainy season is upon us, drivers should be cautious about the slippery roads.

“Discussions have been ongoing, Members of the Parliament are not happy with the number of accidents.”
