Chanter Sharks dreams big

UPCOMING Zim dancehall musician, Tawanda “Sharks” Shara, is set to launch his fourth album titled Hombarume tomorrow.

In an interview with H-Metro, Sharks said his launch will be graced by different artists.

“I am going to be launching an album titled Hombarume on the 1st of October.

“The album launch will be held at Club Amigos in Greencroft.

“There are going to be different artists who will come but one that is certain is Kinnah, who is definitely going to be gracing the event,” he said.

Sharks is confident his album will hold its own.

“This will be my fourth album as I have dropped three albums already.

“It comes with eight tracks that include Hombarume, Mhamha, Say No To Drugs, and others.

“All of the tracks were produced and mixed by Lukan 039,” he said.

Sharks added:

“There are no collaborations on the album.

“I did all the tracks alone because I wanted my voice to be heard.”

The rise in drug abuse cases inspired the artist to record this album.

“The tracks on the album tackle the rise of drug abuse in the country.

“We are losing a lot of our brothers and sisters to drugs and I believe that it is an issue that is worth singing about.

“One of the tracks on the album talks about why we are supposed to show appreciation to our mothers and mothers all around the world,” he told H-Metro.

He was also moved to record this album by what people were saying about the Zim dancehall genre being on its deathbed.

“A lot of people have been saying that Zim dancehall has lost its appeal so I want to prove them wrong.

“Zim dancehall is a genre which, if you do not understand it well, you can always be speaking ill of it.

“I want to show people that Zim dancehall lives on,” he said.

Sharks said the only way ghetto youths can be reached is through Zim dancehall music.
