Chaos looms at DeMbare

While the DeMbare faithful expect Elvis “Chuchu” Chiweshe’s men to be fully focused on overhauling Motor Action atop the Premiership, it emerged last week that the DeMbare Class of 2010 also has an eye on the money from Caf.

The Dynamos players, who seem to be getting more powerful with each passing day, have since written to Zifa asking the soccer governing body to “reserve 50 percent of the money from the Champions League for the players”.

The unorthodox move that has also received the blessings of the Footballers’ Union of Zimbabwe has not gone down well with a DeMbare executive that is hoping to clear its ballooning debt after receiving their share of the cake from Caf.

The former champions oiled their continental campaign through heavy borrowing.
And as the curtain falls on Africa’s premier club competition next weekend and its proceeds get to be shared, the DeMbare debtors, who were promised to be paid from the Champions League earnings, are making moves to get their dues directly from Zifa who will receive the money from Caf.-The Sunday Mail
