ZIMBABWE Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) national coordinator, Chaplain Phiri, was awarded gold, in the Outstanding Women of Impact category, by the Zimbabwe CEOs Network.
She was handed her gong at an event marking International Women’s Day on Wednesday.
Chaplain Phiri hailed the organisation for recognising her role in society.
“I want to start by thanking the Almighty God’s grace that has taken me this far, as well as the CEO’s Network for recognising my role and awarding me this golden certificate.
“As a woman, I feel honoured and urge other women to pursue their gifts up to where God wants to take them.
“I use my personal life experiences to motivate other women and the girl child going through hard times.
“I want to believe that ministering to single mothers, church women’s gatherings and various events contributed much to the impact I make in other people’s lives,” said Chaplain Phiri.
Chaplain Phiri has been ministering for the past 12 years.
She started at the Chaplain’s office at Marondera Female Open Prison before she was made national coordinator for Gender Services.
ZPCS has 46 prisons dotted around the country’s 10 provinces.
