adminBoth the airmen and Tripple B have so far amassed 13 points in five matches and only dropped points when they drew against NewZim Steel and FC Strikers respectively last weekend and coincidentally by identical 0-0 scorelines.
The last time the two teams met was at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge last season when Tshintsha Magiya ended Chapungu’s 17-match unbeaten run after edging the Gweru side 1-0, a result which effectively threw Waru Waru out of the promotion race.

Chapungu a defeat at Ascot which has become their citadel since the league was inaugurated two seasons ago.
Tripple B who boast of the best defence in the league which is yet to concede a goal, will also want to keep another clean sheet but should be wary of the airmen who have the most lethal strikeforce at the moment which has so far banged 15 goals with former Warriors striker Philip Marufu and 2010 Golden Boot winner Brighton Mugoni in terrific form.
Chapungu coach Tom Ruzive and Friday Phiri of Tripple B were cautious ahead of the clash saying they will treat it like any other match.
“It is a tough game playing against Chapungu especially at Ascot but we will take it like any other match. But with football anything can happen we can be the first team to collect maximum points there (at Ascot),” Phiri said.
The Chapungu gaffer said: “We will treat the match the same way we treated the Whawha game but Tripple B are a strong side with experienced coaches so we hope for the best against them,” Ruzive said.
In other matches, third-placed Strikers FC will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they play struggling Blanket Mine at Dulibadzimu Stadium after two consecutive draws against NewZim Steel and rivals Tripple B.
After a shock 1-2 defeat at the hands of Jessie Mine, young moneybags FC Platinum Under-19s will have to be at their best to dispatch NewZim Steel who have proved to be the league’s dark horses after registering impressive results since the start of the season.
