The Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute of Zimbabwe (CGAIZ) will hold its Summer School in Masvingo at the end of August, bringing together professionals, students and thought leaders to strengthen skills in ethical leadership, governance and economic resilience.
The event comes at a time when rapid technological change and growing governance challenges are placing new demands on professionals and institutions.
Organisers said the Summer School would go beyond conventional training by providing a platform for professionals to reflect on how they can help build institutions anchored on integrity, foresight and responsible leadership.
The programme will blend technical expertise with human-centred development, making it both a professional development opportunity and a platform for personal growth.
CGAIZ chief executive officer Dr Lovemore Gomera said the Summer School was designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and confidence needed to lead with vision and integrity.
“We are not just responding to change but preparing leaders to shape it,” he said.
“This Summer School reflects our mission to raise a generation of governance and accountancy professionals who are not just qualified, but courageous, competent and committed to national transformation.”
He said that governance is central to Zimbabwe’s economic recovery and sustainability.
“Corporate governance is not a luxury but the backbone of economic resilience,” said Dr Gomera.
“This Summer School is a rallying point for professionals who believe in rebuilding with integrity and foresight.”
Beyond technical sessions, he emphasised that the programme includes wellness and team-building activities, underscoring CGAIZ’s commitment to holistic development.
“We want professionals who are balanced, innovative and ethical — leaders who can withstand pressures while inspiring confidence in their institutions,” Dr Gomera said.
“Our goal is to nurture individuals who see governance not just as compliance, but as a calling to transform communities and the nation.”
