Chatedzuka rules Harare

Chatedzuka, who is a serving member in the Zimbabwe Republic Police, had been walking away empty-handed at local competitions for the last six years.
But Chatedzuka finally landed his biggest accolade when he was crowned the overall champion yesterday.
In winning the Mr Harare championship, Chatedzuka first won from the heavyweight division where he exhibited a well-chiselled body.
His individual posing routine was a classy act as he showed-cased his muscles to the background of a police band tune.
He showed good definition and symmetry to take the divisional award with reigning Mr Manicaland, Brighton Mazikana, coming second while Walter Karimanzira took third position.
Paul Goredema was fourth with Claudius Kwirimi finishing fifth and Munyaradzi Mandaza was sixth.   
Chatedzuka won a gold medal, US$100 and a food hamper before he progressed to the final round where he faced the winners from the middleweight and lightweight sections.
Elias Samaringa won from the lightweight division while Simbarashe Fero was the Mr Middleweight after he upstaged Nunurai Masosonere and Zivai Matambo.
Chatedzuka also won another medal after he won from the closed category for the uniformed forces.
For winning the overall title, Chatedzuka went home with a plasma television set and a table.
“It’s good that I have now won something and I am excited.
“After the previous contests I have been walking away empty-handed but I was learning a thing or two. I never lost heart but improved with each competition,” said Chatedzuka.
The police officer, who pumps iron from Morris Depot and Pro-Fitness gyms, believes his strong legs were his biggest asset over his rivals.
“Generally I was in great shape but I think my legs were more defined than the rest of the field,” said Chatedzuka.
After winning the Mr Harare, Chatedzuka is now focusing on the All Africa Olympia in November.
The night was also memorable for Christine Matange who added yet another accolade to the Ms Muscle Mania, Pro-Fitness and Iron Man titles she already hold.
At the same event, Marko Mwale was crowned Mr Harare wheelchair as he relegated Pearson Tazvivinga into second place.
Alex Mkandla took the bronze medal as Munyaradzi Mandaza came out tops in the fitness physique category while Greg Ushe won in the fitness model section.
