Chatunga Mugabe court case drags on in SA…postponed to March 24 again

The court case against Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe (28) and his co-accused, Tobias Matonhodze (33) who among other things are accused of attempted murder in South Africa, was this Tuesday further postponed to March 24 at the Alexandra magistrate’s court.

Chatunga, the youngest son of the late former President Robert Mugabe and Matanhodze are reported to be seeking a plea deal with the State.

The duo is accused of attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and possession of a firearm.

They were arrested and charged for attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and possession of a firearm following the alleged shooting of a 23-year-old worker at the Mugabe’s Hyde Park house in Johannesburg.

The pair recently abandoned their bail application when the prosecution indicated they may abscond bail due to their alleged illegal status in South Africa.
