Mayor Mafume summoned as Parly probes service station stand approvals

HARARE City Mayor Jacob Mafume is expected to give oral evidence before the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Power Development on the allocation of service station stands in the capital city’s residential areas.

The Committee, chaired by Kuwadzana East legislator Charlton Hwende, has raised concerns over the increasing number of service stations sprouting around Harare and Chitungwiza.

Acting Town Clerk Engineer Phakamile Mabhena Moyo, Town Planner Mr Samuel Nyabezi and Chamber Secretary Mr Warren Chiwawa are also appearing before the Committee.

Mr Steady Kangata, Director of Environmental Management Services at the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) and Environmental Manager Mr Phanuel Kudakwashe Mangisi are also appearing before the same Committee.
