HARARE dealer Munyaradzi Chauraya’s ex-wife was yesterday found not guilty of both assault and malicious damage to property.
Natalie Taruvinga was acquitted by Harare magistrate, Nkosinomusa Ncube, after a full trial.
Chauraya had accused Taruvinga of assaulting him and damaging his car.
But, in her ruling, magistrate Ncube said the State failed to prove its case, and no evidence was submitted to corroborate Chauraya’s claims.
The court further ruled that the car, which he claimed was damaged, was not shown to the court as an exhibit and neither was the phone.
The magistrate said the defence went over and above to prove that Taruvinga was, indeed, the victim as she brought medical records showing that she had been injured and suffered a miscarriage during the incident.
The two have been back and forth in the courts.
Chauraya was also acquitted of assault charges filed by Taruvinga.
Today, Chauraya is back in court in the matter in which he is being accused of indecent assault allegations involving a minor.
