Chauruka strikes gold at Machiridza meet

the Under-18 boys’ 100m and came second in the 200m of the Claver Machiridza Memorial Meet at the University of Zimbabwe yesterday.
Chauruka clocked 10.66seconds, beating Shingirai Choto of St Faith, who came second in 10.73secs.
Farai Masawi of St Augustine was third in 10.79secs.
In the 200m, Choto came right when he won in 21.95secs.
Chauruka was second in 22.43secs and Masawi third in 22.76secs. In the Under-20 boys’ 100m Tatenda Mapiye won the race in 11.60secs. Tinashe Marime was second in 11.63esc and Trinity Nyazika third in 11.84secs.
Thandiwe Nyathi of L.M Academy won the women’s 1500m race in 4mins 37secs.
