Goals from two-goal hero Trymore Jombo saw Cheeseman stopping their nearest rivals Arundel who replied through Justine Thompson in a tightly contested match.
Cheeseman have now amassed 26 points from 12 matches and are four points clear of defending champions Di-Gotchie who moved into second place, displacing Arundel, despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Olivine.
Trynose Nyandoro and Ephraim Aritura scored for the Warren Park D-based side Di-Gotchie in their match against Olivine whose goals came from Ronald Murwira, who grabbed a brace.
Fifth-placed Keffaloes emerged as the highest scorers of the weekend when they ran riot in their match against Mgai, who they massacred 11-0.
Tawanda Tore (4), Tinashe Vhiyazhi (2), Mike Avota, Casper Sangoma, Talent Danda, John Banda and Solomon Langwani scored for Keffaloes as they mauled Mgai.
Thulani Nyerezerani, the Harare Marketers’ Soccer League chairman, scored a goal for his side The Blues in a losing cause against Lightvale, who won this match 4-3.
Tinashe Amos (2), Ronald Jere and Tafadzwa Nyahete scored for Lightvale while Nyerezerani, Mark Mutangadura and Billard Shonhiwa replied for The Blues.
City Stars remained in fourth place after playing out a 2-2 draw against Redlight.
Jogy Sharara scored Stars’ two goals while Pedzisai Nyakadzumbu also grabbed a brace for Redlight.
Nathan Mukoma also hit the target twice as his side Baker’s Inn drew 2-2 with NetOne who replied through Washington Chimbama and Obey Chitumba.
Elsewhere at the weekend, PSMI drew 1-1 with Middleage while REA thumped bottom-placed World Education 7-1.
Bradley Chidavaenzi (4), Bybon Fireyi, Andrew Tembo and Simbarashe Simende were on target for REA while Desmond Charekwa scored the consolation goal for World Education.
