THE meeting between the Chegutu Pirates executive, sponsors and embattled coach Tavaka Gumbo was again rescheduled after the gaffer said he had other pressing commitments.
Gumbo, who is appealing against his dismissal, asked to be excused saying he was attending the ongoing Caf A licence course in the capital.
The three parties were supposed to meet yesterday to discuss the case that led to Gumbo’s dismissal.
The Pirates leadership fired the coach a few weeks ago after a poor run. The veteran coach has, however, challenged his dismissal and the club is under pressure to bring closure to the case.
Emmanuel Gutu, a member of the Pirates executive, said they will hold the meeting at a later date.
“We did not go ahead with the meeting which we expected to bring an end to the dispute between the former coach and the executive as he (the coach) was said to be in Harare,” said Gutu.
“I hope we will arrange another day to have the meeting.”
Gumbo last week conducted one of the team’s training sessions after the coaches who replaced him reported late for work.
He was also at Rufaro on Sunday and watched Pirates lose to Stabill.
Despite saying he was attending the CAF A licence course, Gumbo was spotted in Chegutu yesterday.
Meanwhile, in the Zifa Central Region Division One league championship, Tongogara managed to hold in-form ZRP Beitbridge to retain their place at the top of the table.
