POLICE in Chegutu are hunting for person (s) who raped a 78-year-old Chegutu woman before murdering her on Saturday.
The gruesome murder comes a few weeks after two other elderly women from the area were raped before being murdered.
The two ladies from Pfupajena high-density suburb had gone to fetch firewood from a nearby farm when they were attacked.
In the recent attack, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) through its X Handle, confirmed the death of Ms Enery Nankuku (78) yesterday.
She was found dead with bruises on the thighs and a wound on the arm on Saturday at Umfuli Banks, Chegutu.
The victim, police said, “is suspected to have been sexually abused before being killed.”
ZRP urged anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.
