Chi-Town boy in mysterious death. . . hyena footprints on grave

A 10-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza boy died mysteriously, leaving his family in a state of shock.

Dicken Chirikoti died on July 22 after a short illness and was buried two days later.

It is being reported that his coffin had some strange-looking stuff, sending tongues wagging.

His mother, Evelyn Chirikoti, confirmed they were left shocked by the incident.

“I was in South Africa when he fell ill and I quickly organised money for transport to come to Zimbabwe, but he died before I arrived,” she said.

“He is said to have just started drinking a lot of water in the evening and soiled himself that night.

“He became paralysed on the same day and died three days later,” she said.

The following morning after his burial, close family members said they were shocked to find several hyena-like footprints on his grave.

“We went to his grave the next day after his burial and saw footprints resembling those of a hyena.”

A neighbour, who preferred anonymity, said the funeral wake was tense, with strange things happening.

“Everything surrounding the death of this child was not normal.

“Akarohwa nezvishiri mwana.

“He was a fighter, we saw them taking him to prophets for help, but he lost the battle.

“When his body was taken home before burial, we were shocked to find the coffin open.

“Some people blamed it on drunkards, which was surprising because the coffin was locked,” said the neighbour.

Another resident said they were shocked to see animal footprints at the grave.

“We were told he was sleeping with his two brothers when he fell ill.

“The father woke up to find him in a pool of urine and there were faeces.

“He was taken to Chitungwiza Central Hospital where he was immediately admitted.

“Strange things were happening at the funeral wake,” added the resident.

Another source, who stays in the same neighbourhood, said:

“During body viewing, the boy had changed and we also came across a mysterious cup.

“Tava kumakuva, coffin rairamba richiita serinovhurika zvekuti akatombonetsa kuviga.”
