SIX Afro fusion groups, one sungura music outfit and one Traditional contemporary group have qualified for the Chibuku Road to Fame national finals slated for next month.
On Saturday, Mnenga Band from Manicaland and Afro Pulse from Masvingo, both Afro fusion groups, emerged as the ultimate winners. Sungura band Jungle Foxes also made the cut to represent Mashonaland East province.
For Mashonaland East, Wedza-based Jungle Foxes edged nine competitors with Groove Fusion from Goromonzi and Tapi Tapi from Marondera, who took second and third places respectively.
In the heart of the Wasu province, Mnenga Band were named the first prize winners, followed by Watsomba Stars in second position and ASG Band in third position.
In the land of MaVitori in Masvingo, Afro Pulse emerged the ultimate winners, with the second-place position being grabbed by Afro Beatz, while Doctors Band earned themselves the third-place position.

Other Afro fusion groups which have made the cut are Simuniziva from Matabeleland North, Core Vibes from Midlands, All in One from Mashonaland West and Dab Band from Bulawayo.
Also, in the race to the grand finale is Bolamba Culture Birds from Matabeleland South province (Traditional Contemporary Music).
The Chibuku Road to Fame competition is marking 25 years of discovering and promoting raw musical talent across Zimbabwe.
Held under the theme, “25 Years of Discovering Talent”, Chibuku Road to Fame returns in 2025 is hosting the event in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ).
This platform goes beyond music as it uplifts the arts and empowers upcoming artistes to shine.
This year, organisers have introduced a slightly different setup, reducing the traditional 10 provincial finals to six joint provincial competitions.
Meanwhile, Harare and Mashonaland Central will compete at Makuluwani Bar at Whitehouse in Harare.
The national finals will take place on October 4 at a venue yet to be announced.
