MUTARE Premiership side Manica Diamonds’ slippery wide man Marshal Mudehwe and his Tenax counterpart Joseph Jambo are singing from the same hymn book about their intentions to progress from the group stages of the Chibuku Super Cup competition which resumes tomorrow (Wednesday).
The Chibuku Super Cup was put on hold in June owing to the rise of Covid-19 cases around the country.
Manica Diamonds will get the ball rolling against Cranborne Bullets at 11am at Sakubva Stadium, before Tenax clash with Black Rhinos at the same venue at 3pm.
However, as the cup competition resumes, the Gem Boys winger, Mudehwe, who was nursing a knee injury suffered in training recently, said: “It is exciting to have the games back. We really cannot wait to get onto the field of play. We are ready both as a team and as individuals. I am happy that the layoff gave me time to recover and I am fully fit to give my service to the team.”
Tenax’s Jambo said: “This is something that we were waiting for. We are happy that finally we will be playing soccer again. We will give our all and we hope to go beyond the group stages of the competition.”
