“I FEEL honoured to beat the Doctor of Football.”
These were the words of Chicken Inn coach Mandla Mpofu after his 10-man side collected maximum points from the dreaded Maglas Stadium.
Shabanie Mine will live to rue the missed chances as Chicken Inn came from behind to snatch a victory in a thrilling Castle Lager League match at Maglas Stadium yesterday.  Pervington Zimunya was on target for the hosts in the ninth minute with leading goal scorer Tendai Ndoro equalising in the 16th minute before Canaan Nkomo sealed the scoreline in the 66th minute.

The miners were the first to settle when former Masvingo United midfielder Zimunya converted a penalty sending impressive Njabulo Nyoni the wrong way. The asbestos miners were awarded a penalty by Kwekwe-based referee Munyaradzi Majoni who had a brilliant game.

Tarisai Rukanda got the better of Felix Chindungwe and rounded goalkeeper Nyoni in the box who then brought the menacing striker down. The referee pointed to the spot and flashed a yellow card to the goal minder.

Rukanda then had another chance in the 13th minute when he dribbled past Zephaniah Ngodzo but his powerful shot hit the upright post with Nyoni on the wrong side of action and the rebound was cleared by the alert Gamecocks defence.

After the miss the asbestos miners were punished for sleeping on duty. Pardon Marima who missed the game against Black Mambas last week allowed the deadly Ndoro to control the ball outside the box and then he released a screamer that beat goalkeeper Victor Twaliki all systems out in the 16th minute.

The miners were then dealt a major blow when Tafadzwa Mombeshora who was directing operations in midfield clashed with Ngodzo and he had to be rushed to the hospital.

The Shabanie Mine world collapsed after his substitution as Blessed Mbavarira was jittery with Zimunya, William Ngonya and Masocha failing to control and pass easy balls making life difficult for the miners who badly wanted a win to keep away from the relegation zone.
