FOREST Rangers forward, Thomas Chideu, enjoyed a dream return to action from a lengthy injury spell after scoring his first goal of the season in the Zambian top-flight league.
The 26-year-old missed the club’s first 12 assignments due to a career threatening injury, which he suffered before the beginning of the season.
He was introduced in the 66th minute with the score at 1-1.
It took Chideu nine minutes to strike the winner for his side.
Forest Rangers have secured a top four spot ahead of the league’s World Cup break.
Chideu said he is now hoping for an injury-free season.
“I feel good, I’m happy with the goal and it was not just a goal, but it has given me more confidence to do better in the next fixtures.
“I now need to remain fit for the rest of the season so that I can help the team achieve its objectives,” said Chideu.
“I hope that I can keep it up because it’s been a frustrating start for me watching my teammates playing while watching from the terraces.
“There’s nothing which I could have done, but the good thing is I’m now 100 percent fit and I just need to spend more time doing extra work to catch up with the other guys.”
