Chikosi outlines vision

BUSINESSWOMAN Barbra Maonde Chikosi believes she has the solution to the challenges facing women’s football in the country and could turn things around if handed the chance to lead that portfolio. Known as “Mama Red Rose,” Chikosi has thrown her name into the ring and will face off with current boss Rosemary Kunonge in the upcoming ZIFA elections.
She believes her experience will come into play.

As the current chairperson of Cyclone Queens, Chikosi said her decision to contest for the top post was inspired by a desire to see the girl child empowered through sport.
“I am willing to seek some partnerships for the League which will benefit the clubs, especially the players,” she said.
”My desire is to see my fellow women succeed in the game of football and the need to change their lives for the better.

”I am going to offer myself to be part of a team that will propel Women Soccer League to great heights.
“As a new chairperson, if elected, I will improve the club standards by improving transparency, accountability and consult with each and every club as we will be working as a team.”
