MARTIN Chikwana was re-elected as the Zimbabwe Golf Association president and will serve a fresh term for the next two years.
Chikwana, whose tenure was set to end this Friday, was nominated for another term and together with his two vice presidents Staline Masiya and Munodawafa Mutopo who got a fresh mandate following their re-election.
The Bulawayo-based businessman said they had unfinished business for the association and was delighted to be given an opportunity to be at the helm of the association again.
“It is very humbling and it’s such an honour to be entrusted with responsibility.
“We have objectives to achieve. We will see when we are going to finish our mandate and we hope to do things differently by spreading golf to all corners of the country.
“I am very glad that I was once again chosen to be part of the ZGA administration and I promise to serve the association with integrity.
“We managed to hold the annual general meeting at Royal Harare with three posts up for grabs and we are happy that everyone managed to retain his post,” added Chikwana.
The elections were held at Royal Harare and Provinces represented by their respective presidents and other board members like the Zimbabwe Open Committee Chairman, as well as the head of technical, were eligible to vote in the elections. Chikwana came into office in 2021 after replacing Mufaro Chiwoniwoni.
