Cabinet should work together and share ideas.
Ntandoyenkosi hailed the senior Government for establishing the Junior Parliament of Zimbabwe, as an institution which provides a platform for children to air their concerns and aspirations.
The opening was held simultaneously with the launch of the National Youth Policy and the belated commemorations of the Day of African Child.
“I must hasten to commend the Government for establishing this institution. Having held 21 sessions of the Junior Parliament since its establishment in 1991, like in all 21st celebrations marked by the presenting of a key life,” said President Moyo.
He said children were the future for national development.
“It is befitting to have these two grand activities being held on the same day as they complement each other in the empowerment and participation of children and young children”.
The Child President expressed concern over increasing cases of violence perpetrated on children.
“Violence still persists in our country against children and young people.
“It constitutes a harsh reality for a significant number of children, including in the form of harmful traditional practices,” he added.
In relation with this year’s theme of the Day of African Child commemorations, “Empowering the Youth Towards Employment”, he said children should protect their identities and avoid imitating what they see on television as that may affect their upbringing.
“Technology is good but use it wisely,” he said.
The Child President later applauded the media for covering children events and giving the children a platform to showcase their talent.
“I am happy with how the media has improved especially when covering children issues.
“Imagine we had the same system and coverage which is done for the senior Government. I hope this will go a long way in developing the children lifestyle,” he said.
