AWARD-winning musician Chillmaster is set to bring his musical flair to Matabeleland this weekend, with back-to-back shows in Beitbridge and Gwanda.
The Unodiwa Kwazvo hitmaker will perform at Konka Pub in Beitbridge on Friday night before heading to Phoenix Shisanyama in Gwanda on Saturday for another highly anticipated show.
Both events are being held in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which promotes cancer education, early screening and regular check-ups while offering support to patients and their families and remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease.
Fresh from the release of his Nhova album, Chillmaster remains a favourite among music fans, particularly young people, thanks to his consistent run of hits.
From Ndiudze Zvese and Makanaka to his recent offering Ndopa Iwewe, the musician has maintained a strong presence on the music scene.
In Gwanda, DJs Keitho, Virus and Mbobstar will set the tone for the night, while MC Freddy K and Rich Flavour will keep the crowd entertained.
DJ Keitho said artistes had an important role to play in promoting breast cancer awareness because art could communicate messages that were often difficult to express in words.
“Through paintings, music, dance, drama and fashion, artistes can break the fear and stigma around cancer, turning a painful topic into a message of hope, early screening and survival.
“Through these shows, we want to remind women and men to get checked early,” he said.
