Chimanimani shop loses US$30k to robbers

A shop at Chakohwa Business Centre in Chimanimani lost over US$30 000 to three robbers who raided their premises this week.

In a statement, ZRP national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.

“Three unidentified male suspects who were armed with firearms broke into a cottage and attacked two occupants.”

“The suspects force marched one of the victims to a shop where they stole US$30 000. Anyone with information should report at the nearest Police Station.”

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a robbery that occurred in Borrowdale West.

“Seven unknown suspects who were armed with four pistols, two machetes and two crowbars attacked a security guard who was on duty before breaking into the house where they attacked the occupant,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.

“The suspects ransacked the house and stole seven cell phones and a laptop before loading the loot into the victim’s white Toyota Hilux vehicle registration number AGA 8344 and driving away.”
