Chimbadzwa wins award again

ZRP FOOTBALL Club’s forward Kasimero Chimbadzwa’s scoring skills are paying him well after he received the Supreme Panel Beaters Top Goal Scorer of the Month award for October on Saturday.

This is the second time the ZRP FC striker has won the award after having first scooped it in September.

Chimbadzwa walked away with US$200 on Saturday, which was presented by ZIFA board member Ben Gwarada, just after their defeat at the hands of Ngezi Platinum in the Yadah TV Knockout Cup semi-finals at Gwanzura.

He scored four goals in the match against Royal Classic, a brace against Ngezi Platinum and a goal in each of their games against Bindura and Twalumba.

Chimbadzwa is also the leading goalscorer in the league with 20 goals and, with just four games to go before the season ends, he may also walk away with the Golden Boot Award of the Year.

“It’s very nice but unfortunate that I am getting the prize money after losing the semi-final. For the prize money I am happy but for losing today it’s unfortunate,” said Chimbadzwa.

“Determination and focus helps me maintain the form.

“I am focused on everything I do, I take every game as a Cup game, I feel every game I should score and as a striker I feel I have to produce a goal.

“So, since the time these guys introduced this prize money, I felt it can actually go to my side.”

Chimbadzwa said they had hoped to at least the Yadah Cup.

“It’s hurting because since we are no longer in the title race I felt that maybe we could lift this Cup, we could go away with a silverware but now we out,” said Chimbadzwa.
