Takudzwa Chimwemwe says it’s a dream come true for him to join African giants TP Mazembe.
Chimwemwe joined the DR Congo giants with his former Nkana teammate, Alex ‘Bazo’ Ngo’nga, on a two-year deal.
Chimwemwe joined the five-time African Champions League champions as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Nkana.
“I’m so excited to have joined and to be playing in DRC. This is like a dream come true for me. TP are a big club recognised in Africa.
“And to be part of a team like that is something big for me as a player,” he said.
Chimwemwe will be registered for Mazembe’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign that begins next month.
“Playing in the Confed Cup will be something I’m looking forward to.
“I managed to play some games when I was still with Nkana, and I’m looking forward to playing more.
“It is my wish to win accolades with them. And I can’t wait to earn my place in the team and become a regular.”
Chimwemwe was a regular in the Warriors and played in their last international dance in the AFCON tournament before the country was banned by FIFA.
