China’s Tibet tasi Delek a success

A cultural Chinese show dubbed “China’s Tibet tasi Delek” held over the weekend at a fully packed 7Arts Theatre lived up to billing with several acts of music and dance taking to the stage. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture of People’s Republic of China Embassy in Zimbabwe. The exciting show had 15 acts that comprised different songs and dances that are practised in the region Tibet.

Some of the dances included “Auspicious New Year”, ‘Nang Ma”, Gorshea”, “Gyashea” “Beautiful Scenary in spring” and “Xianzi-flowing sleeve like clouds” that showed that men and women with rich dresses celebrate the Tibetan New Year and wish for a bright future.

Another dance act was “Mina Cham” which is a widely welcomed by the people in Tibet .It shows its ancient culture charm and a group of young dancers led by the inheritors of “Min Cham” and once again experience special melody from the drums and dancing steps.

There were also solo performance of the songs that describe Tibet and its natural features. Some of the songs include “The Song of the Shepherd” in which the singer appreciates his hometown that has snow mountains and virgin forest. Another song performed was called “Basong Tree”, “Nang Ma Yang Jin Duoduo” (Heaven Road) and duet “We Cherish Our Love”.

Speaking at the event ambassador of China to Zimbabwe Lin Lin said it was a pleasure to have cultural exchange between the two countries.
“Our relationship with Zimbabwe has come a long way and we appreciate such platforms that enable both cultures to learn from each other,” he said.

The show was also graced by Foreign Affairs minister Simabarashe Mumbengegwi, Harare Provincial Affairs Minister Miriam Chikukwa and Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Thabetha Kanengoni- Malinga.

Minister Kanengoni exalted the cultural exchange show that benefits both nations.
“Zimbabwe and China share a number of cultural exchange programmes and as a ministry we support our children and we must continue to support talents such as singing and dancing that these young people have,” she said.
