Chinenere new Zim envoy to Canada

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed Mr Cecil Toendepi Chinenere as the country’s Ambassador to Canada.

The appointment is in terms of the provisions of the Constitution.

Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda announced the appointment through the Government Gazette.

“It is hereby notified that His Excellency the President has, in terms of section 110(2)(i) as read with section 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, appointed Cecil Toendepi Chinenere as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada,” he said. 

Canada established diplomatic relations with Zimbabwe in 1980 at independence and maintains an embassy in Harare, which is concurrently accredited to Botswana and Malawi while Zimbabwe maintains an embassy in Ottawa.
