FORMER Golden Eagles star Trevor Bhunu delivered a man-of-the-match performance as FC Platinum cruised to a 3-0 victory over Herentals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
Bhunu capped an impressive display with a thunderous volley right at the death, after Tubelihle Jubane and Oscar Bhebhe had also found the target for Pure Platinum Play.
FC Platinum went into the encounter sitting in 10th position, and the victory boosted their hopes of securing a top-eight finish.
The former champions now have 43 points, while Herentals remain on 48 points, with their chances of securing a top-four finish becoming increasingly slim.
FC Platinum have shown significant improvement since the arrival of South African coach Thabo Senong at the end of July.
The team has suffered just one defeat since Senong replaced Joel Lupahla.
“I am happy with this performance, credit to the team,” said Bhunu.
