Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa and Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office Mr Sylvester Nguni.
Speaking to journalists soon after arrival, Mr Wang said his visit intended to implement business agreements between the two countries. “I am here to implement the agreements reached by the Government of Beijing and Zimbabwe to enhance our cooperation and trade relations,” he said.
VP Mujuru hosted a banquet for Mr Wang later in the evening where she called for enhancement of relations between Zimbabwe and China.
“Most of the liberation fighters passed through China for training to liberate this country,” she said.
“The political relationship that we enjoy is not enough and it should translate into economic growth of both countries.”
Mr Wang said he chose Zimbabwe for his first foreign visit because of the existing relations.
He is expected to meet President Mugabe, VP Mujuru and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai today before leaving Harare for Nyanga to inspect resettlement projects undertaken by Anjin Investments.
Zimbabwe has several business deals with China in areas of trade and investment.
