RISING Chinhoyi Afro pop artist, Trisha Hinzie, believes she is now a polished gem ready for the big stage.
Trisha told H- Metro she was inspired by Trevor Dongo, Ammara Brown and Gemma Griffiths.
The 22-year-old composes and mixes different types of music such as RnB, rock, Zim dancehall, jazz and a little bit of trap.
“I was inspired by Trevor Dongo, Ammara Brown and Gemma Griffiths as well as Jah Prayzah
“Internationally, it is Bebe Rexha and Tory Kelly who inspire me.”
Trisha said she recorded about 15 songs but has lost some of them since she started recording at a tender age.
“My first recording was at Mo Mula Studio. It all started as a joke at the age of 15.”
I am looking forward to dropping an EP next year but for now I will be dropping singles due to financial challenges,” she said.
Like most artists from small towns and poor backgrounds, Trish is facing several challenges.
“My musical journey has been a struggle and I hope to find the light at the end of the tunnel.
“As a girl child in music, I always aim high because the sky is the limit and I am not deterred by what I am facing in life,” she said.
Her latest single, ‘Ndichauya’ is doing well.
The song is dedicated to mothers and sister-in laws and pleads with them to love one another.
She has also released another single, ‘Ndiwe’, which is trending on YouTube.
