MANICA Diamonds striker, Nyasha Chintuli, says he is hoping for a bit of luck to spark a turnaround in his lengthy goal drought.
The Gem Boys are set to entertain Chicken Inn in a Castle Lager Premiership encounter at Vengere this afternoon.
Ironically, the enterprising forward last scored against the Gamecocks, in the reverse fixture.
In fact, he netted a brace to take his tally to nine.
The loss of his killer instincts have been weighing heavily on the Mutare side, who are now in seventh place on the log, despite a promising start to the season.
Chintuli is desperate to turn a corner today.
“I’m someone who’s just confident. If I fail, I try again next time.
“But, I’m hungry to put my name on the scoresheet since I last scored against this team.
“It’s been long and I guess scoring tomorrow will boost my confidence and ignite my Golden Boot dreams.
“My objectives haven’t changed.
“We still have eight games to play and it’s too early to make any conclusions, we just need to keep our best foot forward until it’s over,” said Chintuli.
He said they are aware of the huge task at hand.
Antipas’s men are coming from back-to-back losses.
“Chicken Inn are a good side, and we can’t afford to undermine their capabilities.
“The road hasn’t been smooth for them and that doesn’t make them underdogs in this fixture.
“We are ready for them, everyone is geared up for the game and we are ready to fight for maximum points,” he said.
