admingiants Legia Warsaw before leaving the club last year, has been registered to play for Dynamos in the Champions League although he is yet to seal a deal with the Glamour Boys.
Chinyama is a free agent, until he puts pen to paper with a club, giving him the flexibility to look for a team beyond the European-season transfer window since his status enables him to be registered outside that window.
He has been training with DeMbare and played for the Glamour Boys in the Bob ’88 semi-final against Hwange at Barbourfields on Sunday, in a losing cause for the Harare giants, who crashed to a 1-2 defeat.
Chinyama is wanted in Ukraine with reports indicating that both Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev are interested in the big forward.
His local agents confirmed this week that Chinyama is on the radar of the Ukraine giants but he had been considering his options because there was also interest in his services from clubs in Cyprus and Turkey.
“There has been communication with certain agents in Ukraine who are telling us that there is considerable interest in Takesure in that country and some names of the clubs that have shown interest have been thrown around,” said Chinyama’s agent.
“When you are a proven goal-scorer on the European scene, it’s easy to attract the interests of clubs because goals are in short commodity and make a big difference.
“Takesure is one of those players who have proved that they can get goals, on a regular basis, on the European stage and that is why he is on the radar of a number of clubs who want that hitman who can get supply goals for them.
“He proved it in Poland playing for a top team where he was under intense scrutiny, given the fierce support base of that club, and we are so sure that he can do it again because he is in prime shape and, at 29, he has the experience that is needed.
“Takey is the kind of centre forward most managers want, one who is big, has pace and a very good eye for goal and we are weighing the options because there is no need to panic since he is a free agent and can sign anytime once a deal is concluded.
“What was important was for him to get in shape again and he has done that and, if we don’t get the kind of deals that we want, he can still come back and play for Dynamos in the Champions League and on the domestic scene where we are sure he will make a huge impression that will bring a number of foreign clubs knocking on our doors.”
Chinyama was the first non-European player to win the Golden Boot in the Polish Premiership, the Ekstraklasa, when he scored 21 goals in 35 appearances for Legia Warsaw.
Having arrived at the Polish giants in 2006, Chinyama was deemed to be not good enough to make the grade at the club and he moved to Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski.
An impressive spell followed and Legia Warsaw were charmed by the scoring instincts of a player they had rejected a few months earlier and, using the financial might, they got their man and Chinyama joined
Dickson Choto and Hebert Dick at the club in the summer of 2007.
He scored 18 goals in 38 matches for Legia, in an impressive debut season in the 2007/2008 campaign and showed that the strong performance was not by chance as he scored 21 goals in 35 appearances the following season.
Despite his good form, Chinyama was growing disillusioned with life at Legia and started pushing for a transfer and, with his focus distracted, he did not reproduce the goal-scoring form of the first two seasons in his final two years at the club.
Last year, Chinyama finally got his wish and left Legia after scoring 47 goals in 97 appearances for the team.
He returned home towards the end of last year to recharge his batteries and was courted by a Dynamos team that needed someone to replace Cuthbert Malajila who was certain to leave for South Africa in January.
Yesterday, Chinyama said he was in great shape to still play at the highest level.
“I can feel that I have a lot that I can give to the game and I am in good shape and what I want is a challenge and I’m getting offers here and there and we will see how it all unfolds,” said Chinyama.
“I still have a number of years in my legs and I can provide a good service for any of the top teams.
“But let’s see how it all turns out because I’m not panicking really and I’m ready for a new adventure.”
