Chipangano on the hunt as Southern Region One heats up

THE Zifa Southern Region Division One race charges into Round Four this Saturday, with a series of mouth-watering fixtures lined up across the region.

Fresh from a ruthless 5-0 demolition of Zebra Revolution, former Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Hwange head to the City of Kings and Queens for a tricky showdown against Bulawayo City at White City Stadium. Kick-off is at 12pm.

Second-placed Hwange boast a seasoned cast that includes Winston Mhango, Dominic Chungwa, and Joe Nyabinde. Chipangano have collected seven points from two wins and a draw, sitting just two points adrift of early pacesetters Bulawayo Chiefs, who welcome Eagle Life FC to Luveve Stadium.

Casymn, currently third, travel to Filabusi Primary School for a clash with basement side Jordan Sinnot, while a bruised Zebra Revolution, still reeling from last weekend’s hammering, will look to bounce back against Victoria Falls City Herentals at White City B Arena.

Meanwhile, Chakona in Hwange will host the meeting between Megawatt and Imbizo. Plumtree-based Mainline are set to square off with Blackrock at Dingumuzi Stadium.

Sunday’s action will see Bulawayo Warriors take on Talen Vision at White City Stadium. Last weekend, Bulawayo Warriors narrowly lost 1-0 to Eagle Life FC, while Talen Vision ran riot, thumping Mainline 6-1.
