Chipawo launches Manicaland chapter

INAUGURAL provincial launch of Chipawo will be held at Rujeko Primary School in Dangamvura tomorrow (Saturday).  This will see Chipawo which means “Please give” or “Give also” an arts education for development and employment organisation based in Harare that works with children and young people in different parts of Zimbabwe, coming to Mutare for the first time.

Children from four years of age and youths up to 25 years old learn to sing, dance, play music, act, make videos and television programmes, communicate, gain and build confidence through criticism among other things.

Chipawo addresses the key issues that concern the welfare and development of children through arts.
In an interview, an artist working with Chipawo who is also ZNTDA Manicaland coordinator, Diana Nhau said various primary schools from Manicaland were expected to attend.

“We will teach all schools who want to join Chipawo various skills like traditional dances. Headmasters from various primary schools are also expected to attend. We are happy that Chipawo has finally come to Mutare,” she said.
