Chipaz Promotions in rare hat-trick!

respective bands thrill revellers at three different venues.
All the nine musicians will be hosted by one promoter – Chipaz Promotions – putting Partson Chimboza in league of his own.
If anything, revellers will be spoilt for choice, because for once this month, they will have the rare opportunity to attend any one of the gigs, if not all, depending on their itinerary, liquidity levels and, more importantly, revelling mood.
The night will start off with an exclusive Gospel Night featuring the Charambas – Charles and Olivia – and Charles and Namatai Chipanga at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale.
The Charambas, who are often referred to as the “First Couple of Gospel Music”, command a huge following on the local gospel scene and are well known for their well-choreographed performances.
Backed by the Fishers of Men, the couple has a string of hits to their name, which have been well received across the social strata.
The Chalenam Band, led by Charles and Namatai, will complement the Charambas at the concert. Although it is a new musical project, Chalenam music possesses a polished and vibrant melody, which is quite soothing and addictive.
As the gospel couples will be entertaining gospel lovers in Avondale, just across the suburb, dendera prodigy Sulumane Chimbetu will be serenading fans at the Plaza de Castilla at Greencroft Shopping Centre.
Chipaz Promotions stable’s main show will be at Pamuzinda Highway X-scape, where sungura ace Alick Macheso will share the stage with the Utakataka Express rookie Peter Moyo and Jah Prayzah.
Interestingly, this show is symbolic in a big way, because it will be the first time that Macheso will play alongside the “young Igwe”, whose father – Tongai – was a perceived rival of Extrabasso.
There is no doubt that many revellers will be waiting to see if the magnetic force that often drew the late Tongai and Macheso together and make their joint gigs something to look forward to despite their “beef” will be there when Cheso meets Peter.
It remains to be seen tonight whether the young Igwe’s act will gel with that of Cheso, an entertainer extraordinaire, whose popularity extends across the breadth and width of the region and beyond. The Pamuzinda gig will bring back good old memories to many sungura fans, while giving Peter and Jah Prayzah the exposure they need to marry their performances to music lovers.
The man behind Chipaz Promotions, Partson Chimboza, said the arrangement was a clear testimony of how popular his stable had become in recent years.
