WARRIORS defender Eric Chipeta believes the South African Absa Premier League is more competitive than the Castle Lager Premiership.
Chipeta says he wants to help his newly promoted side Chippa United finish in a respectable position.The former Hwange defender said he first wants to cement his place in the team.
“I’m new to the South African League but as an experienced player I will fight for my position. The team has good players which is healthy for competition,” said Chipeta .
“What I love here is that all of us live as one big family and the management treats us equally. Most of the players are new to the PSL and everyone has to prove himself.”
Chipeta said he is happy about finally playing in the PSL even though he came on as a substitute in two games he has played already. His priority now is to play regularly.
Chipeta joined the Cape Town-based team at the beginning of the season after he impressed during the Chan tournament which was hosted here in January. The Warriors, under Ian Gorowa surprised many by finishing fourth in the tournament.
Former Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari and Wilfred Mugeyi were with Chippa United before they were relegated two seasons ago.
